Kim Kardashian to Meet Trump at White House on Wednesday

She had been planning to meet with Trump and other officials, including Jared Kushner, to discuss prison reform and ask for the pardon of a 62-year-old woman in jail.

"You'll forget about the fact that Kim Kardashian is here at the White House today and what planet that is anything resembling normal, because it's not", Acosta said Wednesday.

"If you think about a decision that you've made in your life and you get life without the possibility of parole for your first-time nonviolent offense, there's just something so wrong with that", Kardashian West told the outlet.

The reality star organised a meeting with the US President in a quest to free great-grandmother Alice Marie Johnson from prison.

According to Vanity Fair sources, Kardashian and her attorney are expected to first meet with Kushner on Wednesday afternoon before sitting with Trump in the Oval Office.

Kim's husband Kanye West has drawn criticism for his support of the President, having recently been pictured wearing a Make America Great Again hat.

President Trump tweeted that they had a "great meeting". The reality TV star visited Kushner and his wife Ivanka Trump's afterward, photographs show.

Kardashian West acted after becoming enraged reading a "Mic" interview about Johnson's case, and "was not only moved to tears, but moved to action".

She reportedly has been in contact with Kushner and the Trump administration over the case.

Kim Kardashian first met Donald Trump in 2010 when the two were involved with the Perfumania cologne brand. "Alice Johnson has paid her debt to society". "The bottom line is, however she got her platform, she's using her platform for good".

A 1997 Associated Press story on Johnson's sentencing said she headed up a multimillion-dollar drug ring. Trump has not commented on whether he plans to grant Johnson a pardon.

"Happy Birthday Alice Marie Johnson", Kardashian tweeted on Wednesday. The 1994 indictment describes dozens of deliveries and drug transactions, many involving Johnson.

Amy Povah, the founder of CAN-DO Clemency, has been advocating for Johnson's release since 2014 and says she has helped collect signatures from 70 organisations who support the pardon, as well as a letter of support from the retired warden of Johnson's prison.

"I'm down for anyone who can make positive change in a positive way to give it a try".
