Lawyer Says Donald Trump Knew About Former AG Schneiderman's Alleged Sex Victims

Attorney Peter Gleason, a former NYPD officer, says he contacted Trump after learning of abuse allegations against AG Eric Schneiderman.

"During my communications with Mr. Cohen I shared with him certain details of Schneiderman's vile attacks on these two women", Gleason wrote.

Schneiderman stepped down as NY state attorney general this week just hours after reports women who accused him of hitting and slapping them. He claims there would have been significant "political corruption".

Gleason, whose letter repeatedly misspells Schneiderman's name, said that Dunleavy "suggested and offered to discuss the matter with Donald Trump".

Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump's personal attorney, leaves federal court in NY on April 16, 2018.

The attorney's allegation has come to light as part of the case against Trump's longtime lawyer Michael Cohen.

Donald Trump's personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, was informed about allegations of sexual misconduct by then-New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman around 2013, according to a letter filed in Manhattan federal court on Friday.

At the time, Schneiderman was investigating Trump's defunct real estate education venture, Trump University, and Trump was hammering Schneiderman in the press and on Twitter over the probe.

Remember those old tweets from President Trump going after Eric Schneiderman and calling him "worse than Spitzer or Weiner"?

Neither Cohen's attorney nor Gleason immediately responded to a request for comment. He is under criminal investigation in the Southern District of NY for possible campaign finance violations and bank fraud.

He says he advised the women not to report the incidents to the Manhattan District Attorney's Office "due to past experience in reporting.political corruption that was ignored by the office and was ultimately prosecuted elsewhere".

The letter closes with an unexpected dig at Michael Avenatti, the attorney who represents Trump accuser Stormy Daniels.

A day before Cohen wrote the court, Avenatti released a report that tallied $4.4 million in suspicious payments to Cohen since 2016, including $500,000 from Russian oligarch Viktor Vekselberg.

An attorney said in a federal court filing on Friday that President Donald Trump knew of allegations of sexual misconduct against Eric Schneiderman, the disgraced former NY attorney general, in 2013.

Schneiderman's lawyer, Isabelle Kirshner, declined to comment. The New York Observer dubbed him the "foremost practitioner of the dark art known as opposition research". Gleason's request came in a letter to US District Judge Kimba Wood.
