Comey shames Rudy Giuliani for comparing Federal Bureau of Investigation agents to Nazi 'stormtroopers'

Rudy Giuliani offers stunning new information in the Stormy Daniels lawsuit

"Anybody who says that I'm exaggerating when I say that this is an out-of-control investigation and they're acting like storm troopers--give me a break, baby!"

Former FBI Director James Comey on Thursday slammed Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani for comparing the FBI agents who raided former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort to Nazi "stormtroopers". "There are no "stormtroopers" there; just a group of people devoted to the rule of law and the truth".

Giuliani, made the comments Wednesday during an interview on Fox News with Sean Hannity, taking aim at Federal Bureau of Investigation agents who raided the office and hotel room of Michael Cohen, attorney to President Donald Trump, The Hill reported.

Though Giuliani was not mentioned by name in the tweet, it was clear that Comey was targeting him.

Giuliani, a former federal prosecutor and mayor of NY, made the remarks in a wide-ranging interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity.

During an interview with The Washington Post on Thursday afternoon, Giuliani fired back at Comey. "Hillary Clinton got that and he couldn't get that", Giuliani said. "He should be sensitive because he's been caught lying over and over again".

"You can bet that given Richman's role at the FBI and [he and Comey's] close relationship that this wasn't the first time that leaks like this occurred", Fitton said, calling for a "credible investigation" into Comey's leaking.

Mr. Giuliani's assertion that Mr. Comey was sacked over the Russian Federation inquiry did line up with accounts from both Mr. Comey and White House officials who have been interviewed by the office of the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, whose appointment was prompted in part by the abrupt firing of Mr. Comey.

It also comes as the president's legal team is debating whether to allow Mr. Trump to be interviewed by special counsel Robert Mueller's team.

Giuliani said he feared that Mueller's team would be more inclined to believe contradictory testimony from Comey on a range of issues. Stewart served five months in federal prison.
