Every baby gets a birth certificate when they're born - and Prince Louis is no different.

The official birth register entry of Prince Louis Arthur Charles of Cambridge.

Revealing the baby prince's moniker after weeks of speculation, Kensington Palace confirmed: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son Louis Arthur Charles".

But The Express explains that although the commoner officially became Princess William of Wales when she married Prince William, Catherine doesn't actually have the right to use "princess" as part of her name, since that can only be done by people who are royal by birth.

On Tuesday, Prince Louis's birth certificate was released, and for the most part, it looks exactly the same as a regular one, except for two small details: Under "occupation" for his mom and dad, Kate Middleton and Prince William, it reads "Princess of the United Kingdom" and "Prince of the United Kingdom". He weighed 8 lbs. 7 oz. Charlotte turns three on Wednesday, her first birthday as an older sister and a middle child.

The company also now stock two mugs to celebrate the upcoming Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle, which will take place on Saturday 19th May.

Green co-leader Marama Davidson sung a waiata for the couple, which she said she wrote for her own children. Mmmmm'kay - we see you, Louis!

It was signed today by Prince William.

By the evening, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appeared on the steps of the Lindo Wing with their still unnamed son.

"This follows a long history of Westminster City Council registering royal births, including Prince Louis" siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte'. Princess Diana reportedly knew the impact Mountbatten had on Charles, which is said to be what first attracted Charles to her.

Louis is known to be a favourite name of the Cambridge family.

William will be taking time off to help Catherine with the new arrival.
