Morale has eroded in the West Wing in recent months because of comments by Kelly to "aides that include insulting the president's intelligence and casting himself as the savior of the country", according to NBC via those eight "current and former White House officials".

CNN followed with a separate report claiming that sources said Kelly said during a meeting with senior national security officials that Trump was becoming "unhinged" after suggesting that the USA would soon be removing troops from Syria.

The publication presents the testimony of four officials who, according to them, heard Kelly called trump an "idiot" numerous times.

Trump tweeted his own denial as well, calling the stories "false". "He always knows where I stand and he and I both know this story is total BS", CNN reported, Kelly as saying in a statement.

"You may recall this "Relatively competent/functional person says privately that Trump is dumb" trop from such previous stories as The Secretary of State Won't Specifically Deny That He Referred to the President as a "F-ing Moron" and "The National Security Adviser Reportedly Called the President an 'idiot" and a 'kindergartner'".

Privately, Kelly 'portrays himself to Trump administration aides as the lone bulwark against catastrophe, ' NBC claimed, adding that the president is growing exhausted of Kelly's attitude. Here's the gist of the "he said she said" rumble in the President's home. "Tillerson declined to do so, simply saying he wouldn't play that Washington game".

President Donald Trump's former personal physician, Dr. Harold Bornstein, alleges that three Trump men took records from his office. Kelly has made clear he wouldn't accept such an offer. The report on Monday capped off weeks of what sources have described as a growing disconnect between Kelly and Trump.

Despite the clarifications, the report was circulated and CNN at one point reported Kelly even used the word "unhinged".

The Channel went on further adding that Kelly had at multiple times called Trump as an idiot for not understanding many things including the DACA.

Kelly told senior national security officials in what appeared to be a "moment of frustration" in the last month that he believed the President was becoming "unhinged", according to the senior administration official.

Trump has reportedly chafed at Kelly's controlling management style, and has occasionally talked with friends about replacing him. And Kelly suffered a significant hit for mishandling the firing of a senior White House aide accused of assault by his former wives. "He never said that".

"I don't think anybody is surprised that he and the President have had disagreements in the past", the official said.
